These officially licensed Royal Canadian Mint NHL Medallions are beautifully colorized with the licensed NHL logo images of The Original Six teams that made up the National Hockey League (NHL) for 25 seasons starting in 1942. These six teams are the Boston Bruins, Chicago Black Hawks, Detroit Red Wings, Montreal Canadiens, New York Rangers, and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Each medallion is officially licensed and approved by the National Hockey League (NHL). These officially licensed medallions have been colorized using a unique multicolor authentic process by the Merrick Mint. Colorizing medallions involves the unique application of special inks directly to the surface using a unique and painstakingly multi-color process, that achieves a level of detail, color saturation, and durability that is #1 in the industry. Each medallion comes in a coin capsule. The 6-medallion set comes with a NHL Certificate of Authenticity. Each medallion is about the same size as a U.S. Half Dollar coin and features a NHL logo with English and French wording design on the reverse and a colorized NHL team logo image on the obverse.
